Immunohistochemical study of the endocrine cells in the pancreas of the actinopterygian fishes ( Actinopterigii)

Abstract

The endocrine tissue in the pancreas of 10 actinopterygian fishes (Actinopterigii) species was investigated in present study. Insulin-immunoreactive cells in the most of the studied species (except A. Anguilla, E. Lucius, C. Carpio) had the spherical shape. Glucagon-immunoreactive and somatostatin-immunoreactive cells had the spindle shape with cytoplasmic processes in all species. Insulin-immunoreactive cells were located in the central region of the pancreatic islets; glucagon-immunoreactive cells were located on islet periphery in the most of these species. In A. ruthenus the islets contained only insulin-positive cells. In this case glucagon-and somatostatin-positive cells were distributed around the islets, single cells and small clasters were scaterred throughout the pancreas. In the islets of A. Anguilla, insulin-immunoreactive cells were found in the peripheral region, glucagon-immunoreactive cells were located in the central region. The observed polymorphism of the islets and endocrine cells can not be explained by feeding habits of fishes.

MORPHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF HUMAN TRACHEA AND BNOCHI GLANDS OF SMOKING AND NON-SMOKING ADULT MEN

Abstract

This work describes macroscopic, hystological and morphometrical study of human trachea and bronchi glands of smoking and non-smoking adult men. The study shows that number of excretory ducts of the glands in trachea, main right and distal bronchus is 3-4 times larger for smokers, rather that for non-smokers. Also, a growth of volumetric fraction of bronchial glands and mucous acini in main right and common bronchi was reliably identified for smokers versus non-smokers. These findings indicate that smoking not only increases the volumetric fraction of glads in bronchial wall, but also leads to growth of number of glands.

Involutive changes of pelvicalyceal system of person’s kidneys according to ultrasound and morphologic studies

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to study age-dependent changes of calix and pelvis. Morphometric sizing of 68 people from the age of 30 to 89 was carried out. 100 corrosion preparations of pelvicalyceal system of kidneys were made. Histilogic sections of calix and pelvis of 32 kdneys were painted by hematoxylin-eosin, by Van-Gizon and Mallory. The data of ultrasound diagnostic of kidneys of 66 people (132 kidneys) from the age of 13 to 80 without pathobiology were studied. Against the background of involution of the sizes of kidneys, the volume of pelvicalyceal system increases. In spite of the fact that the average indicants of the volume of pelvicalyceal system in this period fall down, in some cases pelvis can be widen. It is found out that in geratic age the paries of pelvis become thinner. It can be connected both with the changes of the structure of the paries itself and with the widening of the pelvis due to obstructive nephropathy with the people of this age ( it is more common with males).

Dynamics of some biochemical parameters in patients with peripheral occlusive arterial disease at different periods following reconstructive surgery

Abstract

According to various authors and our own experience, intimal hyperplasia develops in 40-50% cases following reconstructive surgeries causing complications in post-operative period by the development of restenosis. Nowadays more importance in the development of intimal hyperplasia is given to the dynamics of different biochemical parameters of blood plasma. This work represents the analysis of blood plasma endothelin-1, adhesion molecules and C-reactive protein rates in patients with peripheral occlusive arterial disease at different periods following reconstructive surgery. Research was performed in 25 male patients with peripheral occlusive arterial disease stage IIb-IV according to Fontaine-Pokrovsky classification who underwent reconstructive surgery with the use of allo-prostesis.

THE STUDY OF THE DIRECT ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY OF PHYTOECDYSTERONE IN VITRO

Abstract

In vitro studies revealed that phytoecdysterone isolated from Silence nutans and Silence tatarica activates the formation of superoxide in model systems of quercetin and adrenaline autooxidation. It is shown that phytoecdysterone suppresses the development an ascorbate and NADPH 2-dependent iron induced lipid peroxidation. Phytoecdysterone is comparable with cudesane (vitamin E and coenzyme Q10) on ability to suppress ascorbate-depend lipid peroxidation.

Delta-sleep inducing peptide and neuronal activity in dorsal hyppocampus after ventro-medial hypothalamus stimulation

Abstract

In male Wistar rats 30 neurons of dorsal hippocampus were analyzed after stimulation of ventromedial hypothalamus and delta-sleep inducing peptide microiontophoretic application. It was shown that half of those neurons responded to this stimulation by the rise of impulsation frequency. These neurons predominantly belonged to rats predisposed to stress. Resistant to stress rats were characterized by the absence of neuronal activation after hypothalamic stimulation. Delta-sleep inducing peptide application increased sensitivity of their neurons to stimulation of hypothalamus.

Abstract

In the article the Author presents his personal method of rhinoplasty when combination of rhinoscoliosis and rhinolordosis associated with nasal septum deformity. The particularity of the technique is in the set of osteotomies wich are rerformed through the 4 narrow tunnels joining one another the point of nasion. The fifth tunnel to create a pocket for the cartilage graft doesn’t communicate all others to prevent any further graft displacement. Four-tunnels osteotomy could be regarded as an alternative technigue in rhinoscoliosis along with transcutaneous osteotomy and traditional osteotomy through the intercartilage incisions.
