From November 28 to December 1, 2000, celebrations dedicated to the 70th anniversary of its foundation were held at the Moscow State University of Applied Biotechnology (MGUPB). Over the years of the existence of the university, its abbreviations have changed 5 times: MHTIMP-MTIMMP-MIPB-MGAPB-MGUPB.

Abstract
In 1973, the Department of Refrigeration Machines and Installations was organized at MGUPB, headed by Dr. Tech., Sciences, prof. E.I.Kaukhcheshvili. His scientific activity was devoted to theoretical, scientific, technical and technological developments in the field of sublimation preservation of food products and biological materials, as well as to studies of heat and mass transfer processes during phase transformations. Under the scientific guidance of E.I.Kaukhcheshvili, 46 Ph.D. theses were prepared and defended, he was a consultant in the preparation of four doctoral dissertations.

Abstract
CJSC “Kubanopprodtorg” is the largest food base for wholesale trade in the south of Russia. The lack of own refrigeration capacities hindered the development of trade in perishable foodstuffs and made it difficult to provide the population of the region with them. Fluidizing quick freezers
Abstract
Unfavorable changes in the quality of fruits and vegetables during freezing due to ongoing physical and chemical processes are observed within the temperature range from cryoscopic to -5...-10 °C. To maintain their quality during freezing, it is necessary to overcome this temperature range as quickly as possible. The use of fluidized quick-freezers makes it possible to solve this problem in the best possible way.

Air dryer development
Abstract
To maintain the quality of finished products, semi-finished products and various materials, especially hygroscopic, it is necessary to maintain the relative humidity of the air in the warehouse at a given level. For this purpose it is necessary in many cases to dry the air. To reduce the relative humidity of the air, it is often heated, but this method is associated with an unreasonably high energy consumption. It is much more efficient to use dehumidifiers made on the basis of refrigeration machines. In our country, such general-purpose air dryers have not been mass-produced until recently.
Abroad, a wide range of optical agents is produced for use in production and storage facilities, finishing work in construction, etc.

The plant produces a wide range of shell-and-tube heat exchange equipment. First of all, these are ammonia and freon horizontal condensers and evaporators. These devices are used to complete the complex compression refrigerating machines manufactured by the plant, and are also supplied to customers as independent products.

Abstract
Some results of the experimental investigation of a household absorption refrigerator where a propane refrigerating unit working on a closed throttle cycle is additinally used are presented. Several advantages are determined allowing to increase the efficiency of the absorption refrigerator and impart new qualities to it.

IKK through the eyes of Russian specialists
Abstract
The last at the turn of the century, the 21st International Review of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology, held this year on October 18-20 in Nuremberg (Germany), once again confirmed the unsurpassed high level of IKK both from a technical and commercial point of view.
During the 3 days of the exhibition it was visited by almost 20 thousand people from more than 90 countries.
