Cyclidans are full of mysteries: it is still impossible to find their exact place on the taxonomic tree; we still know nothing about their ancestors and why they had disappeared. In total, nowadays only 54 species of these ancient animals are known — a “drop in the ocean” of the species diversity of arthropods. For a long time, cyclidans were of little interest to paleontologists. However, currently there is enough material to summarize all available data, conduct a taxonomic revision, and make cautious assumptions about their origin and evolution.</p>
Сегодня же накопилось достаточно материала, чтобы его обобщить, провести таксономическую ревизию и сделать осторожные предположения об их происхождении и эволюции.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>paleontology</kwd><kwd>arthropods</kwd><kwd>crustaceans</kwd><kwd>cyclidans</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>палеонтология</kwd><kwd>членистоногие</kwd><kwd>ракообразные</kwd><kwd>циклиды</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Phillips J.
