He was one of those people who have been able to invent and make a completely new device that you cannot imagine the modern civilization without. The article gives a brief historical overview of the role of N.G.Basov in the creation and development of lasers.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>14 декабря 2022 г. исполняется 100 лет со дня рождения академика Н.Г.Басова. Он был одним из тех людей, кто смог придумать и сделать совершенно новое устройство, без которого немыслима современная цивилизация.
