This unexpected discovery demonstrates a complex pattern of the transformation processes of the Late Pleistocene megafauna in different regions of Europe against the background of a sharp global cooling after the preceded warming interstadial.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Обнаруженный вблизи Коломны череп вымершего европейского буйвола Bubalus murrensis свидетельствует о проникновении этих теплолюбивых животных в центральную часть Русской равнины, занятую в основном холодостойкой фауной, во времена межстадиального потепления бёллинг—аллерёд (около 14.7–12.6 тыс. лет назад). Это неожиданное открытие иллюстрирует сложность процессов преобразования позднеплейстоценовой мегафауны в разных областях Европы на фоне быстрого глобального похолодания после окончания теплого интерстадиала.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Late Pleistocene</kwd><kwd>bovids</kwd><kwd>water buffalo</kwd><kwd>Europe</kwd><kwd>Russian Plain</kwd><kwd>faunal dispersals</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>поздний плейстоцен</kwd><kwd>полорогие</kwd><kwd>буйволы</kwd><kwd>Европа</kwd><kwd>Русская равнина</kwd><kwd>фаунистические миграции</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>KoenigswaldW. von.
