Abstract

The Sun gives us light and heat, the basics of our life. On the other hand our star is a source of hard radiation and high-energy particles that propagate towards the planets and Earth, in particular, the fluxes of the radiation and particles are strongly amplified during solar flares. In this paper the authors discuss the nature of the flares, latest advances in the study of their nature, and perspectives in this field of science.
