To investigate the capabilities of three-dimensional (3D) and real-time three-dimensional (4D) echography in diagnosing fetal facial anomalies in the first trimester of pregnancy. Material and methods. Fifteen cases of successful verified diagnosis of various fetal facial anomalies in the first trimester of pregnancy and 2 cases presumptively diagnosed as having clefts of the upper lip and palate, which was excluded on further ultrasound imaging. Results. Middle upper lip and palate clefts were suspected in 3 cases at less than 11 weeks’ gestation, in 1 of them, these were not confirmed on further examination. Facial anomalies were found in the other 14 cases at 11 to 14 weeks, 5 (35.7%) of them had severe facial defects concurrent with anomalies of the central nervous and other systems. Conclusion. 3D/4D ultrasound has been shown to be of high informative value and visualization in diagnosing fetal facial anomalies in the f irst trimester of pregnancy.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Цель исследования. Изучение возможностей трехмерной эхографии (3D), а также трехмерной эхографии в режиме реального времени (4D) для диагностики пороков лица у плода в I триместре беременности. Материал и методы. Проведен анализ 15 случаев успешной верифицированной диагностики различных аномалий развития лица в I триместре беременности, а также 2 случаев, в которых был установлен предположительный диагноз расщелины верхней губы и неба, исключенный в ходе дальнейших ультразвуковых наблюдений. Результаты исследования. В 3 случаях при сроках гестации менее 11 нед были заподозрены срединные расщелины верхней губы и неба, в 1 из них не подтвердившиеся при дальнейшем наблюдении. В других 14 наблюдениях аномалии лица обнаружены в сроки гестации от 11 до 14 нед, в 5 (35,7%) из них выявлены грубые пороки лица в сочетании с пороками центральной нервной системы и других систем. Заключение.
