To carry out a systematic analysis of the data available in modern literature on genital herpes and to evaluate the efficacy of valvir (valaciclovir) in the treatment of patients with recurrent genital herpes. Material and methods. The article includes the data of foreign and Russian articles published in the past 10 years and found in Pubmed on this topic. Results. Genital herpes is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections, and their associated physical and psychological diseases are frequently underestimated. Conclusion. Valvir (valaciclovir) is a standard treatment for genital herpes in immunocompetent patients. The investigations have shown that the drug is effective in suppressing the virus and preventing recurrent genital herpes.</p>
Исследования показали его эффективность для подавления вируса и профилактики рецидивирующего генитального герпеса.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>herpes simplex virus</kwd><kwd>genital herpes</kwd><kwd>laboratory diagnosis</kwd><kwd>antiviral therapy</kwd><kwd>prevention</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>вирус простого герпеса</kwd><kwd>генитальный герпес</kwd><kwd>лабораторная диагностика</kwd><kwd>противовирусная терапия</kwd><kwd>профилактика</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Sauerbrei A., Schmitt S., Scheper T., Brandstädt A., Saschenbrecker S., Motz M. et al.
