These two publications confirm the revival of interest in this phenomenon by the international scientific community. The first book, "The Lysenko Controversy as a Global Phenomenon", which comprises two volumes edited by William De Jong-Lambert and Nikolai L. Krementsov, integrates old and new approaches to studying and understanding Lysenkoism. The merits and demerits of the two-volume publication confirm the progress in the study of this subject. Loren Graham’s book, "Lysenko’s Ghost: Epigenetics and Russia", describes Trofim D. Lysenko's activities and their consequences for the development of science in Russia. Graham focuses on Lysenkoism under historical conditions and in the current Russian political context. In the reviewer’s opinion, the book has a debatable character and provides serious reasons to reflect on the fate of Russian science and the fate of the country.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>В статье представлены две недавно изданные за рубежом книги крупных историков биологии, посвящённые лысенкоизму, что подтверждает возрождение интереса в международном научном сообществе к этому феномену. В состоящей из двух томов первой книге “The Lysenko Controversy as a Global Phenomenon” (“Противоречия Лысенко как глобальное явление”), которая вышла под редакцией В. деЙонг-Ламберта и Н.Л. С точки зрения рецензента, книга носит дискуссионный характер и даёт серьёзный повод для размышлений не только о судьбе отечественной науки, но и страны в целом.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>history of biology</kwd><kwd>lysenkoism</kwd><kwd>expansion of lysenkoism</kwd><kwd>rehabilitation of lysenkoism</kwd><kwd>neolysenkoism</kwd><kwd>epigenetics</kwd><kwd>epigenetic inheritance</kwd><kwd>Russian geneticists</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>история биологии</kwd><kwd>лысенкоизм</kwd><kwd>экспансия лысенкоизма</kwd><kwd>реабилитация лысенкоизма</kwd><kwd>неолысенкоизм</kwd><kwd>эпигенетика</kwd><kwd>эпигенетическое наследование</kwd><kwd>российские генетики</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><award-group><award-id></award-id></award-group></funding-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Hoxtermann E.
