Зелевинский</copyright-holder></permissions><self-uri xlink:href="https://journals.eco-vector.com/0869-5873/article/view/659542">https://journals.eco-vector.com/0869-5873/article/view/659542</self-uri><abstract xml:lang="en"><p id="idm45257552239968">The article based mainly on personal reminiscences of the author presents the landmarks of the biography of Spartak Timofeevich Belyaev (1923–2017), features of his exceptional personality and his scientific achievements as the outstanding theoretical physicist known by his fundamental works on quantum many-body theory and nuclear physics. After graduation from high school in 1941, he went through the entire war in the ranks of the army. After graduation from the Moscow Physical-Technical Institute, he worked at the Atomic Energy Institute and then in the Novosibirsk Institute of Nuclear Physics (now Budker Institute of Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences). From 1965 to 1978 he served as Rector of the Novosibirsk State University. After returning to Moscow and to the end of his life, he worked at the theory department of the Kurchatov Institute. In 1968 he was elected a full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. His scientific achievements were highly appraised by many Russian and international prizes including the Great Gold Lomonosov Medal of Russian Academy of Sciences.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p id="idm45257552239184">В статье, во многом основанной на воспоминаниях её автора, представлены вехи биографии, черты неординарной личности, научные достижения Спартака Тимофеевича Беляева (1923–2017) – выдающегося физика-теоретика, известного своими основополагающими работами по квантовой теории систем многих тел и ядерной физике. После окончания школы в 1941 г. он в рядах действующей армии прошёл всю войну. Защитив в 1952 г. диплом Московского физико-технического института, работал в Институте атомной энергии, затем в новосибирском Институте ядерной физики АН СССР (ныне ИЯФ им. Г.И. Будкера СО РАН), с 1965 по 1978 г. был ректором Новосибирского государственного университета. После возвращения в Москву до последних дней жизни работал в теоретическом отделе Курчатовского института. В 1968 г. избран действительным членом Академии наук. За свои научные достижения удостоен престижных наград, в том числе Большой золотой медали имени М.В. Ломоносова РАН.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>S.T.
