The determination of the expression of the genes <italic>GRIN1, GRIN2a,</italic> and <italic>GRIN2b,</italic> encoding the proteins GluN1, GluN2a, and GluN2b, respectively, was carried out by real-time PCR with probes.</p><p><bold><italic>Results. </italic></bold>A statistically significant decrease in the expression level of genes encoding NMDA receptor proteins was determined when exposed to 0.5 mg/ml CuO nanoparticles (ΔCt<sub><italic>(GRIN1)</italic></sub> = 0.813; ΔCt<italic><sub>(GRIN2A)</sub></italic> = 3.477; ΔCt<italic><sub>(GRIN2B)</sub></italic> = 1.37) in comparison with control group (ΔCt<italic><sub>(GRIN1)</sub></italic> = 6.301; ΔCt<italic><sub>(GRIN2A)</sub></italic> = 7.823; ΔCt<sub><italic>(GRIN2B)</italic></sub> = 4.747).</p><p><bold><italic>Conclusion. </italic></bold>Evaluation of gene expression of the NMDA receptor may be present in a genetic marker to determine the toxic effect of copper oxide nanoparticles; however, further studies are needed, including behavioral tests to confirm the clinical manifestations of neurodegenerative disorders.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p><italic><bold>Введение. </bold></italic>Медь играет важную роль в метаболизме мозга, однако частицы меди нанометрового диапазона могут проявлять нейротоксические свойства и вызывать нарушения работы клеток мозга. </p><p><bold><italic>Материал и методы. </italic></bold>В течение 6 нед 3 раза в неделю внутрибрюшинно животным вводили суспензию НЧ оксида меди. Определение экспрессии генов <italic>GRIN1, GRIN2a</italic> и <italic>GRIN2b</italic>, кодирующих белки GluN1, GluN2a и GluN2b, соответственно проводилось методом ПЦР в реальном времени с зондами.</p><p><bold><italic>Результаты. </italic></bold>Определено статистически достоверное снижение уровня экспрессии генов, кодирующих белки рецептора NMDA, при воздействии наночастиц CuO 0,5 мг/мл (ΔCt<italic><sub>(GRIN1)</sub></italic> = 0,813; ΔCt<italic><sub>(GRIN2A)</sub></italic> = 3,477; ΔCt<italic><sub>(GRIN2B)</sub></italic> = 1,37) в сравнении с контрольной группой (ΔCt<italic><sub>(GRIN1)</sub></italic> = 6,301; ΔCt<italic><sub>(GRIN2A)</sub></italic> = 7,823; ΔCt<italic><sub>(GRIN2B)</sub></italic> = 4,747). </p><p><bold><italic>Заключение. </italic></bold>Оценка уровня экспрессии генов рецептора NMDA может быть использована в качестве генетического маркера для определения токсического действия наночастиц оксида меди, однако необходимы дальнейшие исследования, включающие проведение поведенческих тестов, которые позволили бы подтвердить наличие клинических проявлений нейродегенеративных расстройств.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>nanoparticles</kwd><kwd>copper oxide</kwd><kwd>gene expression</kwd><kwd>NMDA receptors</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>наночастицы</kwd><kwd>оксид меди</kwd><kwd>экспрессия генов</kwd><kwd>рецепторы NMDA</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">Ulanova T.S., Antipyeva M.V., Zabirova M.I., Volkova M.V.
