We represent the evolution of views on this problem, stages of development and formation of the modern philosophy of replacement of the shoulder joint, constructive features of diﬀerent shoulder joint implants and indications, which determine the selection of the type of arthroplasty.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Статья посвящена становлению и развитию одного из сложных направлений современной ортопедии — эндопротезированию плечевого сустава.
