Abstract

In the article modern representations, classification and diagnostic criteria of cerebellar ataxia of late age with the sporadic onset are stated; features of clinic, diagnostics and treatment of symptomatic (acquired or secondary) neurodegenerative processes of a cerebellum are considered; the characteristic of pathogenetic and morphological aspects of development local cortical cerebellar atrophy at persons of late age is given. For the characteristic of secondary acquired cerebellar degeneration the term «symptomatic cerebellopathy» is offered, allowing to distinguish local cortical atrophy of cerebellum and immediate spinocerebellar degenerative diseases hereditary and idiopathic origin.
