Clinical manifestations of chronic radiation proctitis can occur both 3 months after completion of therapy and decades later. Late radiation injuries to the intestine often has a persistent course, drug treatment is prolonged and repeated, in severe cases surgical treatment is required. The article presents literature data on pathophysiology, clinical picture, diagnostics and possibilities of treating this pathology.
