The first issue of the journal «Information Technologies» was published in November 1995. The journal's founder and first Editor-in-Chief was Igor Petrovich Norenkov, Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Professor, and USSR State Prize Laureate. Currently, the journal is headed by Aleksandr L. Stempkovsky, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Doctor of Engineering Sciences.
The journal «Information Technologies» is one of the leading Russian scientific and technical periodicals in the fields of information technology, automated systems, and the use of informatics in various applications.
Information technologies are the intelligent components of design, production, and management technologies for complex processes and structures. These technologies are particularly relevant today for addressing Russia's socioeconomic development challenges. Given the traditions and potential of Russian science and technology, it is essential to create the necessary conditions for the development of research in information technology and the implementation of its results in practical systems and various applications. One such condition is the existence of a scientific and practical journal that serves as a means of communication between scientists and engineers, supporting and popularizing the original work of Russian specialists. The journal "Information Technologies" serves as such a periodical.
In addition to current scientific articles, readers will find information about upcoming and past exhibitions, scientific and technical conferences, and symposia on informatics and computer engineering.
