The values of electrical conductivity of hard tissues of the teeth undergoing sealing of carious cavities with the use of fluoride-containing materials

Abstract


The primary objective of the present clinical study was to estimate marginal adaptation of the fillings used for the treatment of secondary caries and to obtain comparative characteristics of electrical conductivity at the tooth-filling interface depending on the nature of filling materials. A total of 120 patients aged from 18 to 55 years were available for the dynamic observation. The results of the study made it possible to identify the filling materials the use of which permits to achieve maximally efficacious and persistent marginal adaptation, improve the resistance of the hard dental tissues, and reduce percentage of post-treatment complications.
