Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) - is a widespread functional disorder clinically characterized by abdominal pain and violation of the bowel evacuation. The article presents the current data on the epidemiological structure of IBS. Potential mechanisms for the genesis of this disease are discussed. Diagnostic criteria and relevant non-drug and pharmacological treatments for IBS are considered.

Синдром раздраженного кишечника (СРК) - это широко распространенное функциональное заболевание, клинически характеризующееся абдоминальной болью и нарушением режима опорожнения кишечника. В статье представлены современные данные об эпидемиологической структуре СРК. Обсуждаются потенциальные механизмы генеза данной патологии. Рассмотрены диагностические критерии и актуальные немедикаментозные и фармакотерапевтические методы лечения СРК.
