Abstract
The article describes the different types of headache, the principles of diagnosis and differential diagnosis of primary headaches (migraine, tension headache, trigeminal autonomic cephalgia, including cluster headache, paroxysmal hemicrania) and secondary headaches. The principles of treatment and schemes of drug treatment for each type of primary headaches, and the indications for referral to a specialist in management of headache are discussed.
