Diabetic gastroparesis: possibilities of prokinetic therapy

Аннотация

Diabetic gastropathy, accompanied by delay of food evacuation from the stomach, with symptoms of gastro-intestinal dyspepsia, or gastroparesis, occur in 50% of patients with diabetes mellitus. In most cases hypoglycemic, angio-and neuroprotective therapy can not reverse the motor dysfunction of the stomach, which in turn embarrass the effective correction of glycemia. The clinical and post-marketing surveillance studies provide to consider itopride (Ganaton) as first-line drug in the treatment of motor disorders of the stomach. Itopride is an effective and safe prokinetic with antiemetic effect, and use of this drug in patients with diabetic gastroparesis is clinically and pathogenetically substantiated.
