Evaluation of efficacy of dressings for the treatment of chronic wounds of cracked nipples in breastfeeding women

Purpose. To evaluate the effectiveness of healing action of dressings in II-III degree cracked nipples in Tomsk breastfeeding women in the period from January to May 2017. Material and Methods. During the period from January 2017 to May 2017, there were 40 breastfeeding women under observation, with II-III degree cracked nipples at different lactation periods, which were divided into two groups: 1 group - 20 breastfeeding women at different lactation periods with cracked nipples of II-III degrees, who received treatment in the form of monotherapy - dressings for the treatment of chronic wounds; 2 group - 20 breastfeeding women at different lactation periods, with cracked nipples of II-III degrees, which received treatment in the form of monotherapy - PureLan 100 cream for nipples. Results. All women who were under observation noted good tolerability of dressings for the treatment of chronic wounds; and there were no allergic reactions. Treatment of II-III degree cracked nipples with these dressings compared with PureLan 100 cream showed a better healing effect and can be recommended as a monotherapy in this condition.
