Background. Psoriasis is a common immune-mediated chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by altered proliferation, keratinocyte differentiation and chronic inflammation. Patients with mild psoriasis may experience comorbid mental illness. However, such disorders as depression and anxiety are more common in patients with severe psoriasis and/or psoriatic arthritis, often associated with diabetes mellitus (DM). It should be noted that the signs of exudative dermatosis with short periods of remission are dominated in clinical picture, which significantly worsens the quality of life (QOL) of patients. Objective. Demonstration of the effect of psoriasis on QoL and psychological aspects. Methods. A survey of 410 patients with psoriasis was carried out. The age of the patients ranged from 26 to 68 years. All patients were divided into two groups. The first group included patients with psoriasis and DM (n=210), the second ones - patients with psoriasis without diabetes (n=200). The selected groups were compatible by gender and age. Results. The study showed that the HADS score was statistically significantly higher in the group with DM than in the group without diabetes (p<0.001), which indicates increased anxiety and depression in diabetic patients. Statistically significant differences on the PASI scale indicate that diabetes statistically significantly worsens the severity of the course of the disease, and according to the DLQI scale, it indicates that diabetes statistically significantly worsens QoL. It was also found that the HADS and PASI scores had statistically significant correlations with each other (p<0.001).
