This journal is published by one of the leading centers of the oriental studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences that is widely renowned by its unique expertise in the field of various Asian cultural traditions with a special emphasis of textual analysis of manuscript data. Each and every issue contains original materials often never analyzed before – the fact that makes the journal most valuable for international scholarly audience. The journal is published in English, and therefore is easily accessible. The language of some articles is a bit strenuous (it is unclear whether all the articles are read through by a native-speaker editor), and abstracts to some articles are too short. But these are minor details. As an impressive scholarly enterprise that will interest the international research community it fully merits inclusion in SCOPUS.

+ In general, the content of the articles is consistent with the scope and aims of the journal.

+ The journal has clear aims and scope/journal policies that are consistent with the journal’s content.
