Abstract
Most common complication of massive mediastinal tumors are tracheal and bronchial obstruction and superior vena cava compression. Early in the disease there may be no symptoms, compression may present with life-threatening manifestation during general anaesthesia. The purpose of investigation was to evaluate risk of respiratory failure, associated with general anaesthesia and choose the optimal technique: total intravenous anaesthesia with propofol ore inghalational induction with sevoflurane.
