Abstract
The physical development is defined as one of the fundamental criteria in a complex assessment of a child health state, and its deviation is often the first, clinically revealed symptom of a chronic disease. The assessment of physical development of 343 pupils of average educational institutions of Samara with use of recommended WHO's techniques (Z-score) of Norms of Growth of children is carried out. Some features of their physical development proving need of updating of regional standards of children's growth are revealed.
