This research is considered the development of the methodological bases, occurring within
the limits of the Philosophical Academy based by Platoon and whose cognitive approach
and the conceptual base of his outlook were inherited by them. The basic accent of the given
research is made on illumination of features of speculative knowledge of mental sphere by
early academicians of the nature of soul expressed in their research. Feature of the given
work is the consideration of the academic tradition in its conceptual unity with works of the
founder as philosophy of peripatetic.
