In urban plantations, this breed is characterized by rapid growth, stability, good soil protection properties, and high decorative value. Larix has proven itself positively in the green plantings of the North due to its high adaptive ability. The purpose of our research is to determine the qualitative indicators of seeds of representatives of the genus <italic>Larix</italic> Mill. and an analysis of the use of Larix in urban plantings in Arkhangelsk. The research covers the seeds of <italic>Larix</italic> <italic>sibirica</italic>, <italic>Larix kaempferi</italic>, <italic>Larix sukaczewii</italic>, and <italic>Larix gmelinii</italic>. It was found that the seeds of <italic>Larix kaempferi</italic> (24,8 %) have low quality, intermediate indicators of absolute germination in <italic>Larix sukaczewii</italic> (35,1 %) and <italic>Larix sibirica</italic> (38,5 %). The highest values of this indicator are possessed by the seeds of <italic>Larix gmelinii</italic> (68,8 %). The native species, Siberian larch, is used as widely as possible in urban plantings. It is found in parks and squares, on streets and in residential areas, on the territories of educational and medical institutions, on squares. This species responds well to the conditions of the urban environment, has a well-developed, well-formed crown with bright juicy needles.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Представлен анализ использования лиственницы в городских посадках Архангельска, а также рассматриваются качественные показатели семян представителей рода <italic>Larix</italic> Mill. Исследованиями установлено, что максимально широко в городских посадках используется аборигенный вид — лиственница сибирская. Определено, что она встречается в парках и скверах, на улицах и в селитебной зоне, на территориях образовательных и лечебных учреждений, на площадях. Зафиксировано, что данный вид хорошо откликается на условия городской среды, обладает хорошо развитой, правильно сформированной кроной с яркой сочной хвоей. Исследованиями охвачены семена лиственницы сибирской, японской, Сукачева, даурской. Установлено, что низким качеством обладают семена лиственницы японской (24,8 %), промежуточные показатели абсолютной всхожести у лиственницы Сукачева (35,1 %) и сибирской (38,5 %).
