It was found that the most pronounced loss of larch provenances was observed in the 1st age class, and did not depend on the parameters of the climatic and geographical characteristics of the growth places of the original plantations and its similarity with the conditions of the test site. It is shown that the main cause of larches death of different species and geographical races in the conditions of the north were local soil-hydrological and weather conditions (frosts), as well as freezing due to losing by trees the protective snow cover. The materials on the preservation and growth dynamics of various provenances of larch are presented. The collection revealed two relatively resistant to unusual growing conditions with an ultra–long transfer in the meridian direction of the climate — Siberian larch (<italic>Larix sibirica </italic>Ldb.) from the Irkutsk region and Okhotsk larch (<italic>L. ochotensis</italic> Kolesn.) from the Khabarovsk Territory, the preservation of which at the age of 47 was 5.7 and 7.4%, respectively. The absence of reproductive activity of offspring was noted. It is shown that Siberian larch has an advantage in terms of the number of living trees, taxational characteristics, condition and quality of the trunk, compared with Okhotsk larch. It is recommended to use these two populations for consideration for breeding improvement.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Рассмотрены особенности выживаемости и роста лиственницы 14 климатипов рода <italic>Larix</italic> (6 видов, часть из которых представлена несколькими географическими расами) в географических культурах, созданных в 1978 г. в Архангельской области (подзона средней тайги). Установлено, что наиболее выраженный отпад климатипов лиственницы наблюдался в первом классе возраста и не зависел от параметров климато-географической характеристики мест произрастания исходных насаждений и сходства с условиями места испытания. Показано, что основной причиной гибели лиственниц разных видов и географических рас в условиях севера были местные почвенно-гидрологические и погодные условия (ранние заморозки), а также обмерзание вследствие выхода деревьев из-под защитного полога снегового покрова. Приведены материалы по динамике сохранности и роста различных климатипов лиственницы. Выявлено два происхождения, относительно устойчивых к несвойственным им условиям произрастания при сверхдальней переброске в меридианальном направлении климатипа — лиственница сибирская (<italic>Larix</italic><italic> </italic><italic>sibirica</italic> Ldb.) из Иркутской области и лиственница охотская (<italic>L</italic><italic>. </italic><italic>ochotensis</italic> Kolesn.) из Хабаровского края, сохранность которых в 47-летнем возрасте культур составила 5,7 и 7,4 % соответственно. Отмечено отсутствие репродуктивной активности потомств. Установлено, что по числу живых деревьев, таксационным характеристикам, состоянию и качеству ствола преимущество имеет лиственница сибирская по сравнению с лиственницей охотской.
