Во всех главах подчеркиваются большие изменения в демографии, ожидаемой продолжительности жизни, выживаемости, инвалидизации, из-за увеличения распространенности продолжительных нарушений здоровья, из-за технологического прогресса, а также расходов на здравоохранение и общественных изменений с точки зрения требований благополучия и качества жизни вместе со здоровьем. Все эти проблемы сочетаются с особенностями ФРМ - медицинской специальностью, ориентированной на человека в целом и его/ее функционирование при различны нарушениях здоровья, с целью гарантии их максимального возможного участия посредством улучшения деятельности и сокращения нарушений.
