The purpose of the present study is to clarify the content of the concepts of cultural diplomacy, foreign cultural policy, public diplomacy. The article examines the factors that contribute to the transition from public diplomacy to cultural one. The author reveals the reasons for the actualization of the latter and emphasizes that this trend is caused by the cardinal transformations of the socio-cultural landscape. Cultural diplomacy acts as a part of foreign cultural policy, but is not its only component and is fundamentally different from public diplomacy. It is emphasized that cultural diplomacy is focused on international humanitarian cooperation, where the fields of culture, science and education are dominant.

The study is devoted to the creative interaction of the artistic worlds of mother and son, A.L. Tolstoy (Bostrom) and A.N. Tolstoy. In the story A Dream in the Old House A.L. Tolstaya (Bostrom) raised but failed to resolve the question of her attitude to the family and family past, to the historical heritage of her ancestors. Several decades later, working on the story Nikita’s Childhood, A.N. Tolstoy used his mother’s story as one of the precedent texts for his own narrative, continuing to develop such previously outlined motifs as the motif of the old house, the motif of ancestors’ portraits and family legends related to them, the love motif, etc. The authors of the article for the first time analyze these works in the historical and aesthetic contexts of Tolstoy’s creative work.

In musical art, a polyphonic triptych is widely represented and multi-genre. The article presents the meaningful aspect of polyphonic cycles by modern Russian composers. The main meaningful aspect of a three-part polyphonic composition is the expansion of the imaginative and artistic concept of the composition, when the quality-effective factor is not the total sum of the three components of the opus, but is a product of a larger meaningful radius. This issue is revealed by the application of the universal principle of triadic division of various categories, which is used in philosophy, aesthetics, culture and art

The study reveals the specifics of the formation and representation of new female images by means of the example of paintings and small porcelain plastics created at the State Porcelain Factory in the 1920s and 30s. The influence of the prevailing ideology on products made in this theme is traced. The author develops a typology of female images presented in Soviet propaganda porcelain, reveals stable signs that formed the basis of the “Soviet woman” iconography. The study of the heritage of the factory artists is especially important nowadays, 280 years after the foundation the first Russian porcelain manufactory (1744), which was succeeded by the State Porcelain Factory.

The image of nature in the Buryats’ traditional culture was formed over the centuries and acquired its original features in ancient times, in the pre-Buddhist era. The author of the article proves that the origins of the sacred worldview of this period are rooted in shamanic ideas and rituals – animistic, zoomorphic and cosmological ones. The diversity of the surrounding world found its embodiment in artistic images, reflected in both realistic and stylized forms. Elements of the Buryat ornament, based on natural motifs, were widely used in the decor of objects of worship, everyday life, clothing, utensils and dwellings. The art of the later Buddhist period, which began in the late XVIIth century, was of a canoized cult character.

Based on theoretical research and the empirical basis of Russian and foreign pedagogical science, the author’s module program “Innovative Designing in a Creative University in the Context of Digitalization” has been developed. It is intended for professional development courses for teachers of higher educational institutions. The approbation of the educational module “Theoretical and methodological aspects of the formation of teacher’s readiness at a creative university to design and use innovative educational technologies in the training of students” has confirmed the effectiveness and feasibility of using a competence-module approach in the implementation of an educational program in the system of additional education.

In 1914-1916 there was centralization of the network of institutions of extracurricular education, mainly libraries organized by provincial and uyezd zemstvos on the territory of the Samara province. The project, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the zemstvo reform, provided for the opening of 35 district public libraries. This article considers the preparation of a plan for the development of extracurricular education and its implementation in wartime; reveals some peculiarities of library construction in uyezds, the demand for public libraries among the population as well as typical problems that accompanied the activities of these institutions.

he typewritten almanac entitled Idleness, which has been preserved in the archive of Novosibirsk poet A.I.Denisenko (1947-2023), is considered in the article as an artefact of samizdat that appeared during the transition from the perestroika period to uncensored creativity. The materials of this collection, which were originally of circle, home nature, were addressed to the employees of the publishing house where A.I. Denisenko worked, and parodied politicized perestroika publications. The almanac Idleness serves as an example of the freedom of regional samizdat of the transition time (from politics to literature and literary everyday life), reveals new aspects in the collective work of the compiler and his colleagues.
