Heteroatom-Containing Alkylphenolyates as Multifunctional Additives to Lubricant Oils
Abstract
Condensation of nitrogen- and sulfur-containing alkylphenols with alkanolamine, imidazole, benzotriazole and formaldehyde, followed by treatment with boric acid and neutralization of the obtained products with calcium hydroxide, synthesized sulfur-, nitrogen- and boron-containing modifications of alkylphenolate additives. The structures of the synthesized additives were confirmed by IR spectroscopy; the functional properties of the obtained products in the composition of SN-600 and MC-20 motor oils were investigated.
It has been revealed that among sulfur-, nitrogen- and boron-containing modifications the highest anticorrosion, antioxidant and anti-wear properties are possessed by additives based on nitrogen- and sulfur-containing alkylphenol, alkanolamine and boric acid—IHP-235(NB) and IHP-236(SNB).

Development of a Method for Production of Petroleum Ceresins by Deep De-oiling of Petrolatums
Abstract
The method of production of ceresins on the basis of de-oiled petrolatum extracted from residual raffinates is shown. Peculiarities of influence of solvent composition and its multiplicity to the raw material, temperature of final cooling and number of de-oiling stages on the product yield and its properties (dropping temperature, penetration, oil content and kinematic viscosity) are considered. The optimum values of technological parameters of de-oiling of various residual raffinates for obtaining petroleum ceresin with improved quality indicators have been established.

The Use of Schiff Bases as Corrosion Inhibitors
Abstract
The results of research into the application of Schiff bases as corrosion inhibitors are shown. Lite-rature sources report a wide range of applications of Schiff bases. It is noted that azomethines (another name of Schiff bases) contain in their composition imine group, which is obviously responsible for the presence of anticorrosion properties of these compounds. The results of the authors’ own research are shown.

Installation to Prevent the Formation of Explosive Concentrations of Liquefied Petroleum Gases during the Discharge/Filling of the Tanker Truck
Abstract
When operating multi-fuel filling stations (MAZS), there are risks associated with the explosion and fire hazard of the facility, namely the transportation and shipment of explosive liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). With the depressurization of tankers, it is possible for LPG vapors to spread through the territory of the MAZS, which can lead to ignition of LPG vapors and subsequent detonation. The issue of the safety of MAZS is very relevant today. The regulatory document NPB-111-98 specifies the mandatory requirement for fire safety of already built MAZS. To meet these requirements, an installation was developed to prevent the formation of explosive concentrations of liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) during the discharge /filling of tankers. Such an installation is a system of supply and exhaust ventilation, placed in such a way that on the one side of the edge the air flow would form a backstop by the inflow of air, and on the other—a vacuum would be created by the exhaust system. For the selection of ventilation and auxiliary equipment, the calculation of ventilation ducts, air flow velocity and system resistance was performed. The requirements for the mobility of the vapor phase on the surface have been achieved, which is at least 2 m/s. The project was implemented at a number of MAZS of a large oil company.

Solubilization of Water with Detergents
Abstract
The issue of solubilization of water by various detergents is considered. It has been established that with an increase in the base number of the detergent, the solubilization of water increases. The influence of the steric factor, determined by the structure of the detergent, on the efficiency of neutralization of acidic products by the latter is noted. Solubilization is proposed to be considered as an intermediate stage in the general reaction of the interaction of water with detergents, leading to destabilization of the system.

Operational Assessment of the Quality of Motor Oils
Abstract
In chemmotology, the rapid assessment of motor oils is implemented through the use of special laboratory complexes in practice. The combination of individual methods in the form of a special complex allows you to increase the objectivity of the assessment and get an idea of the subject under study on a small number of samples in an extremely short time.
