Clinical and biochemical blood tests, coagulogram, blood ammonia test, number linkage test, multislice computed tomography of the chest, and <sup>13</sup>C-metacetin breath test. Patients were divided into two groups depending on the volume of lung injury. Statistical processing of the results was performed with the software SPSS 26.</p> <p><bold><italic>RESULTS</italic></bold><italic>:</italic> The most frequent symptoms were manifestations of intoxication syndrome, respiratory failure, the severity of which correlated with the volume of lung tissue damage according to multislice computed tomography of the chest. In both groups, the activity of alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, gamma-glutamyltranspeptidase, and alkaline phosphate increased. However, significant distinctions in the groups were revealed only for gamma-glutamyltranspeptidase and alkaline phosphate levels. The level of C-reactive protein in both groups directly correlated with the level of cytolysis and cholestasis, indicating a significant role of the liver in pathological processes in COVID-19. Conclusion: Hyperammonemia and decreased liver functional reserve of various severity were observed in all patients.</p> <p><bold><italic>CONCLUSIONS</italic></bold><italic>:</italic> The findings indicate the diagnostic value of the studied parameters for the evaluation of liver damage, as well as the applications of prevention and treatment measures for liver lesions in patients with COVID-19.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p><bold><italic>Обоснование</italic></bold><italic>.</italic> Согласно литературным данным нарушение функции печени является одним из предикторов неблагоприятного исхода COVID-19.</p> <p><bold><italic>Цель</italic></bold><italic> <bold>исследования</bold></italic> — изучить частоту и выраженность поражения печени при COVID-19, а также предложить лечебно-профилактические подходы при поражении печени.</p> <p><bold><italic>Материалы и методы</italic></bold><italic>.</italic> В исследование включен 171 пациент с пневмонией, вызванной вирусом SARS-CoV-2, в возрасте 21–94 лет (средний возраст 59,85 ± 14,96 лет). Выполнены клинический и биохимический анализы крови, коагулограмма, анализ крови на определение уровня аммиака, тест связи чисел, мультиспиральная компьютерная томография органов грудной клетки, <sup>13</sup>С-метацетиновый дыхательный тест. В зависимости от объема поражения легких пациенты распределены на две группы. Статистическая обработка результатов проведена с помощью программы SPSS 26.</p> <p><bold><italic>Результаты</italic></bold><italic>.</italic> Наиболее часто встречались проявления интоксикационного синдрома и дыхательной недостаточности, тяжесть которой коррелировала с объемом поражения легочной ткани, по данным мультиспиральной компьютерной томографии. У пациентов обеих групп отмечено повышение активности аланинаминотрансферазы, аспартатаминотрансферазы, гамма-глютамилтранспептидазы, щелочной фосфатазы. Однако достоверные различия в группах выявлены только по уровням гамма-глютамилтранспептидазы и щелочной фосфатазы. Уровень С-реактивного белка в обеих группах прямо коррелировал с уровнями цитолиза и холестаза, что указывает на значительную роль печени в патологических процессах при COVID-19.
