Abstract

The comparative evaluation of the results of surgical treatment of 18 victims of dog bites, hospitalized in the burn unit of the Leningrad Regional Clinical Hospital, using a method of healing in a negative pressure on the basis of planimetry, histological, cytological, microbiological and immunohistochemical methods. It is shown that the use of vacuum therapy to optimize the healing process, significantly accelerate the timing of cleansing, of granulation tissue and epithelialization of damage caused by the bites of dogs, 74.5; 69.5 and 49% (p < 0.05), respectively, as well as reduce the incidence of suppurative complications on 66.7% (p < 0.05). It was found that this method can reduce the contamination of wounds inflicted by dogs, by 3.1 times, compared to the use of medical dressings. It is noted that the negative pressure in zone intensity of expression of epidermal growth factor (EGFR) and markers of cellular proliferation (Ki-67), respectively, 2.25 and 2.27-fold higher, indicating that during the intensive phase III of wound healing (5 figs, 2 tables, bibliography: 11 refs).
