cerevisiae is a unique model for studying the molecular mechanisms of exotoxin-mediated antagonistic relationships between coexisting microorganisms. The synthesis of yeast toxins can be considered as an example of allelopathy and environmental competition. The elucidation of the role of allelopathy in the formation of microbial communities is of great interest for modern ecology. Yeast toxins are widely used in medicine, the food industry and biotechnology. The review examines the nature of exotoxins, the mechanisms of inheritance and interaction of the virus and yeast cells, as well as the prospects for their practical application.</p>
В обзоре рассмотрены природа экзотоксинов, механизмы наследования и взаимодействия вируса и клеток дрожжей, а также перспективы их практического применения.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>cytoplasmic heredity</kwd><kwd>yeast killer toxins</kwd><kwd>allelopathy</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>цитоплазматическая наследственность</kwd><kwd>киллер-токсины дрожжей</kwd><kwd>аллелопатия</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><award-group><funding-source><institution-wrap><institution xml:lang="en">Russian Foundation for Basic Research</institution></institution-wrap><institution-wrap><institution xml:lang="ru">Российский фонд фундаментальных исследований</institution></institution-wrap></funding-source><award-id></award-id></award-group><award-group><funding-source><institution-wrap><institution xml:lang="en">Russian Foundation for Basic Research</institution></institution-wrap><institution-wrap><institution xml:lang="ru">Российский фонд фундаментальных исследований</institution></institution-wrap></funding-source><award-id></award-id></award-group></funding-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Czárán TL, Hoekstra RF.
