The hybrid event brought together both in-person and online participants, including researchers from Russia, Moldova, and Turkmenistan. The conference was dedicated to the anniversary of Professor Lyudmila A. Lutova, whose research in plant biotechnology and genetic engineering is widely recognized both in Russia and internationally. This issue of the journal Ecological Genetics presents selected articles contributed by conference participants.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Пятая международная конференция «Генетически модифицированные организмы: история, достижения, социально-экологические риски» успешно прошла 1–3 декабря 2025 г. в Санкт-Петербургском государственном университете (Россия). Мероприятие, организованное в гибридном формате, привлекло как очных, так и онлайн-участников, включая исследователей из России, Молдовы и Туркменистана. Конференция была посвящена юбилею профессора Людмилы Алексеевны Лутовой, чьи исследования в области биотехнологии и генной инженерии растений широко известны в нашей стране и за рубежом.
