Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.


Author Guidelines

When you send materials to the journal, you should strictly adhere to the general requirements of publications.

Mandatory requirements for registration of an article:

  • Universal Decimal Classification (code obtainable at a medical institution library)
  • Title
  • Initials and names of the authors
  • Organization (full name without abbreviations), city, country
  • Summary of the article (5-6 lines) and keywords (3-4).

  • Contact person’s name (in full), title, complete mailing address and a valid email address for correspondence.

The text of the article:

  • Introduction.
  • The purpose and objectives of the study.
  • Materials and methods.
  • Results and discussion.
  • Conclusions.

12 font Times New Roman, 1.5 spacing, margins on all sides 2 cm.
The references should be given by numbers in [square brackets], numbers are assigned in order of appearance in the source article. References should be listed in this order. Submitted articles must be processed statistically.
Tables, graphs of tables, figures, diagrams should have titles, necessary comments, and figure captions. Tables should be placed in the text under the corresponding links.
Figures (graphs) should be black and white with a distinguishable pattern, and placed with the captions in the text. Photographs must be black and white. Resolution photos and bitmap of at least 300 dpi, jpg file format with maximum quality, or tif.
The volume of articles on emergency care is up to 10 pages, on related specialties – up to 6 p. (Times New Roman 12, 1.5 spacing)
References must conform to federal standards.

Materials in electronic form should be sent to Prof. Victor V. Ruksin, email:, including them as a file attachment (Word document, for photos and bitmaps – jpg or tif). File name – the last name of the first author.

It is a requirement to send the final article version, certified and signed by all authors, to: 191015, St. Petersburg, Kirochnaya Street, 41, Mechnikov North-Western State Medical University, Journal “Emergency Medical Care”, with an additional label “Article”.


Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor)
  • Manuscript file format is Microsoft Word (has the extension *.doc, *.docx, *.rtf).
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in "For Authors" section.
  • The text is 1,5-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end. The manuscript does not exceed 6 000 words.
  • All the required supporting documents will be submitted together with the manuscript. The list of supporting documentrs includes scanned original of the filled cover letter in PDF. A cover letter signed by all authors.
