Abstract
From 374 cases of breast cancer observed during 1915-1925, the authors could trace 139 cases operated on by amputation of the breasts. The more malignant the disease was, the younger the patient was. Duration of time between cancer detection and surgery was 6 months.

Moschcowitz, Colp и Klingenstein (реф. Jour, de chir., 1927, № 5) из 374 наблюдавшихся втечение 1915—1925 г. г. случаев рака грудей могли проследить 139 случаев, оперированных путем ампутации грудных желез. Болезнь оказалась тем более злокачественною, чем моложе была больная. Продолжительность времени между констатированием раковой опухоли и операцией была 6 мес. Опухоль находилась почти одинаково часто с левой и правой стороны преимущественно в верхне-наружном квадранте. В 52% не было рецидива втечение 3 лет, в 34%— втечение 5 лет, в 16%—втечение 8 лет и в 4%—после 10 лет. У 2 больных был рак обеих грудей; одна из этих больных жива уже 14 лет после операции, другая 7 лет. 6 больных пользовались радиотерапией до и после операции; у 3 из них был рецидив, 3 других живут после операции 2, 3 и 5 лет.
