Carriage of thyroid antibodies as a risk factor in the development and progression of endocrine ophthalmopathy

Abstract

The authors examined the role of the carrier thyroid autoantibodies (antibodies to receptor TTG - AT to rTSH, antibodies to thyroglobulin - AT to TG, anti- thyroid peroxidase - AT to TPO) in the clinical course of 139 patients with endocrine ophthalmopathy (EOP), developed on the background of diffuse toxic goiter (DTG). The study analyzed the role of monoseropozitivnosti against AT to rTSH, AT to TG, AT to TPO, as well as combinatorics of these antibodies in the clinical course of EOP. close direct link has been proven between carriage of thyroid antibodies to rTSH, TPO, TG, and clinical course of the EOP. Seropositive against AT to TPO and TG is as important a risk factor in patients with EOP DTZ than antibodies to rTSH. It is proved that multiseropozitivnost associated with more frequent development of reactive and higher amplitude orbit inflammation.
Thus, serum indices and spectrum of thyroid antibodies reflect the depth of systemic autoimmunity disorders, are associated with an increased risk of local autoimmune inflammation in the orbit and may serve as prognostic markers of high-risk and severe forms of the disease.
