Spirometry is a "gold standard" of diagnostics of the disease. In our investigation we studied respiratory function in rural population. A high prevalence of obstruction: FEV1 less than 80% of normal, recorded in 23.5% of the cases and FEV1/FVC &lt;0,7 in 15,1% of the surveyed adult rural population was revealed. Among the males the corresponding figures were respectively 33.6% and 29.9%.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Хроническая обструктивная болезнь легких является важной медицинской и социальной проблемой. «Золотым стандартом» диагностики заболевания является спирометрия. В рамках настоящего исследования осуществлялось исследование функции внешнего дыхания у населения сельской местности. Обнаружена высокая распространенность бронхиальной обструкции: ОФВ1 менее 80% от должных значений зафиксированы у 23,5% и ОФВ1/ФЖЕЛ&lt;0,7 у 15,1% обследованного взрослого сельского населения.
