This is primarily due to non-compliance with various safety measures and increased traffic accidents.</p> <p><bold><italic>CLINICAL CASE</italic></bold><italic>:</italic> This article presents a rare clinical observation of a 9-year-old male with a sternal fracture with displacement of fragments. The presented clinical observation draws attention to the treatment option – open reposition of fragments with their further fixation with lavsan threads.</p> <p><bold><italic>DISCUSSION</italic></bold><italic>:</italic> In cases of treating sternal fractures with fragment displacement, various versions of osteosynthesis can be used: external fixation (with a plate and screws), intraosseous (spoke osteosynthesis), transosseous (application of a serclay or lavsan suture), off-collar (external fixing devices, original author’s designs). The described method is easy to execute and accessible to almost every surgical or trauma hospital providing care to children.</p> <p><bold><italic>CONCLUSIONS</italic></bold><italic>:</italic> One option for osteosynthesis in isolated sternal fractures in children between 10 and 12 years old is the application of lavsan sutures in the open reposition of fragments. An important advantage of this technique is the absence of the need to remove fixing structures, which is accompanied by tissue injuries and increased patient hospital stays, reducing the quality of life. In addition, the described method has low trauma and noteworthy cosmetic results.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p><bold><italic>Обоснование</italic></bold><italic>.</italic> В настоящее время увеличивается количество пациентов детского возраста с травмами грудной клетки — около 12 % всех травм мирного времени. В первую очередь это связано с несоблюдением различных мер безопасности, ростом числа дорожно-транспортных происшествий.</p> <p><bold><italic>Клиническое наблюдение</italic></bold><italic>.</italic> В данной статье представлено редкое клиническое наблюдение — перелом грудины со смещением отломков у мальчика 9 лет. В рассмотренном случае осуществляли открытую репозицию отломков с дальнейшей их фиксацией лавсановыми нитями.</p> <p><bold><italic>Обсуждение</italic></bold><italic>.</italic> При лечении переломов грудины со смещением отломков могут быть использованы разные варианты остеосинтеза: накостный (пластиной и винтами), внутрикостный (остеосинтез спицами, гибкими титановыми стержнями), чрескостный (наложение серкляжного или лавсанового шва), внеочаговый (внешние фиксирующие устройства, оригинальные авторские конструкции). Описанный метод прост в исполнении и доступен практически каждому хирургическому или травматологическому стационару, оказывающему помощь детям.</p> <p><bold><italic>Заключение</italic></bold><italic>.</italic> Одним из вариантов остеосинтеза при изолированных переломах грудины у детей до 10–12 лет является наложение лавсановых швов при открытой репозиции отломков.
