Pediatric Traumatology, Orthopaedics, and Reconstructive Surgery’ is a scientific academic journal established in 2013 in St. Petersburg, Russia. Modern pediatric orthopaedics and traumatology is a fast growing field of scientific research and its clinical applications. It has emerged on the intersection of several medical specialties and absorbed the most innovative achievements of general orthopaedics and traumatology, pediatric surgery, pediatrics, neurology, rheumatology, plastic surgery and other disciplines. The very name of the discipline, ‘orthopaedia’, is inextricably tied to the treatment of children since the time its founder, Nicolas Andry. Despite this, pediatric orthopaedists in Russia do not have their own journal, which could unite all specialists in this field. To fill this gap, the Turner Academic Council of Scientific and Research Institute for Children's Orthopedics has decided to establish specialized journal, which will provide physicians with a discussion platform and opportunity to share experiences, knowledge and opinions. The journal publishes works of the top specialists in the field of pediatric orthopedics, trauma and reconstructive surgery. The journal also provides the opportunity for young researches to publish their results and enter the field. We welcome both domestic and international scientists, and specialists in related in related fields. Experiences of these specialists are important for successful treatment of patients.
