Abstract

The systems providing gas composition (SGC) are designed to fulfill different tasks onboard of spacecrafts. The most important of them are:  purification of inhabited modules from carbon dioxide and microimpurities;  control of the atmosphere composition of inhabited modules by oxygen, carbon dioxide and water vapors partial pressures. The paper examines the problems of SGC use with regenerable absorbers of carbon dioxide onboard of a spacecraft. Absorbed carbon dioxide and microimpuriries are removed during vacuum or thermo vacuum regeneration of absorber (sorbate) in the SGC systems of this type. A standard scheme and a principal of operation of the system of atmosphere purification of a sealed inhabited module from carbon dioxide, water vapors and microimpurities are given. The changes of pressure and molar fractions of the atmosphere components in a sealed object during a continuous longterm operation of the system that purifies the atmosphere from carbon dioxide exhaled by the personnel were examined. A possible increase of an oxygen molar fraction in the atmosphere of the module due to noncompensated losses of neutral gas during carbon dioxide absorber regeneration was shown.

Abstract

In view of Montreal, Kyoto and Paris climate agreements the refrigerants corresponding to the main tradition of these documents that is the greenhouse gases impact lowering are examined. The hydrofluoroolefins (HFO) produced today, their properties, qualities and defects as well as the principal of technical designation are examined in detail; they are compared with R134а that is the most used now HFC. Also the mixtures of HFO with other refrigerants mainly with HFC are described. The plan of consecutive phase out of HFC refrigerants used today depending on their greenhouse potential is given. The increase of СО2 emissions of refrigerants, when calculating these emissions using the LCCP index instead of TEWI, was estimated. It was shown that natural refrigerants that are not the universal panacea may be considered today as the most reliable alternative to synthetic ones.

Abstract

The paper presents the method of a refrigerant choice for a refrigeration plant using the entropy and statistical thermodynamical analysis that allows determining expenditure of energy to compensate the entropy generation both with respect to all cycle and as well as to separate elements of a refrigeration plant for each studied refrigerant and necessary boiling temperatures. The methodology and the example of calculation in regard to a R22 onestage cycle at -31 оС boiling temperature, at 42 оС condensation and at 27 оС ambient temperature are given. The results of defining specific loss of work through the elements of the plant as well as for a group of other refrigerants used in refrigeration engineering such as R32, R134a, R1234yf, R404A, R407C, R410A, R507, R600a, R717, are presented. Calculations of specific loss of work at throttling for all these refrigerants at different boiling temperatures (from -43 to +12 оС) were carried out; recommendations according to the usability range of singlestage compression depending on refrigerant and boiling temperature as well as according to expander types are given.

Abstract

This work covers the problem of keeping of stability and survival rate of Lactococcus lactis lactis and Lactococcus lactis cremoris lactobacilli. The influence of the suspension density of lactobacilli on their survival rate, on cryogranules as well as on cryogranules that were subject to cool dehumidification was studied. The factors influencing the survival rate and lactobacilli’s activity were revealed. The investigations resulted in accumulation of experimental data on the lactobacilli survival rate and activity at cryogranulation and their using in cryogranulating form. It was specified that the suspension density of lactobacilli before cryogranulation impacts on the survival rate to a very little degree after cryogranulation, but it impacts greatly on the granules state, particularly after cool dehumidification. Also the suspension density impacts on the granule colour: the higher the density, the darker the colour of the granule. It was noted that the cryogranules when granulating without additional components have a high level of survival rate, but to make further cool dehumidification it was necessary to use sucrose or maltose solutions. An acidforming capability of cryogranulated lactobacilli didn’t change during the cryogranulation process. So, it was shown that the Lactococcus lactis lactis and Lactococcus lactis cremoris cultures yielded well to cryogranulation in liquid nitrogen and had a high survival rate and kept an acidforming capability as well.

Abstract

The paper cites the recommendations on introducing a passport system for the enterprises of the meat sector of refrigeration industry. An individual working passport of each refrigeration enterprise is one of the rational recommended internal information analytical documents that characterizes and regulates the operation of the cold store and compressor shop, also it stipulates legitimacy of application of norms of natural losses, in particular, calculations of meat and meat products losses under conditions existing during refrigeration and storage processing at the enterprise. A technical working passport of a refrigeration enterprise may be rather useful when solving problems of reconstruction, technical reequipment, insurance as well as when developing individual norms of energy expenditure, water discharge, oil consumption, refrigerant and coolant rate, spares etc., and when elaborating measures on ecology and technical safety at the enterprise.
