Abstract
Aving electric and thermal energy in the production of lowtemperature cold for shock freezers is possible when using the combined refrigeration machines. The operation of refrigeration machines of the combined type is based on the compression - absorption cycles. Such machines consist of two stages: a hightemperature stage (absorption refrigeration machine) and a lowtemperature stage (a vapor compression refrigeration machine). In the stage of high temperature, working solutions of R22 / DMETEG and LiBr / CH3OH were used. An experimental check of the working models of these machines showed that the consumption of electric energy by such machines is less by 42-48 % compared to twostage vapor compression refrigerating machines. The COP of the refrigerating machine of the combined type reaches 5,5-5,9 that is 80-90 % higher than in the twostage vapor compression machines. It is shown that the use of the working solution and LiBr / CH3OH in the hightemperature stage is more effective than the solutions of R22 / DMETEG, NH3 / H2O, LiBr / H2O by 40-45 %.

Abstract
Development of power efficient and environmentally friendly low-temperature plants is a foreground task of refrigerating engineering. One way of solving such problems is to make use of vacuum-evaporation systems to cool liquids. The paper presents an algorithm of estimation of power efficiency of water cooling vacuum-evaporation systems. Vacuum refrigerating plants were compared with conventional “Freon” vapor-compression refrigeration machines intended for water cooling under different temperature conditions, and the advantages of vacuum plants were revealed. The range of condensation temperatures when the use of vacuum cooling systems was more efficient in comparison with conventional vapor-compression ones was defined.

Abstract
An educational process in higher schools is continuously transforming aimed at increasing education quality and compliance with current economic reforms. Educational technologies on the basis of a practiceoriented approach established a reputation as an effective method of upgrading educational process as regards a practical orientation and developing not only the subject knowledge but professional applied competences. The paper describes the experience of realization of an innovative curriculum on the basis of the projectoriented approach for the bachelors in 16.03.03 discipline “Refrigerating, cryogenic engineering and life support systems” in Moscow polytechnic university. The fundamentals of adoption of the discipline “Project activity” according to CDIO standards are presented. The main organizational problems are examined after concrete examples of student works performed. The results of adoption of the Project activity on the basis of the first four years cycle completed of studentsbachelors training have been objectively estimated.

Abstract
The results of researches of efficiency of fruits and berries storage technology using ionizing radiation (gradiation), cold and modified atmosphere (MA) to inhibit phytopathogenic microflora, to reduce losses and to increase shelf life are presented. Cherry, black currant, strawberry, apricot and peach were chosen as the objects of study. They were treated by gradiation at dose 0.54 kGY with a 60Co source. Fruits were packed in polymer film bags with selective gas permeability and stored in the cold chamber at 4...5 оС. A novelty of the research consists in a complex use of ionizing radiation and other methods of fruits treatment that influence long keeping factors of fruits such as disinfection by antiseptic, retarding the processes of postharvest ripening, keeping commercial quality. Combination of treatment methods allows realizing synergetic action to prolong fruits shelf life. An offered complex technology gives the possibility to reduce fruits and berries losses 3-5 times.
