Abstract
For the first time ever X-ray optics of Mikhail Pavlinsky ART-XC telescope makes possible the surveys of large areas of the sky in hard X-rays, with the sensitivity maximum at about 10 keV. The main goal of such surveys is studies of various astrophysical objects, whose soft X-ray emission is prone to absorption. Among them are active galactic nuclei, massive X-ray binaries, and cataclysmic variables in our Galaxy.
