Abstract
Space experiments consist of two parts. The first is space segment, which includes the spacecraft itself with its engineering equipment and scientific payload, and the second is ground segment that provides data acquisition, its processing and distribution, as well as planning and management of a spacecraft and its payload. Having Spektr-RG project as an example, we discuss main tasks of ground segment, its role in space experiment, and its characteristics.
