Abstract

The paper analyzes data on bipolar affective disorders (BAD) in which pharmacotherapy discontinuation during pregnancy increases the risk of recurrences. It gives information on the safety of drugs used to treat BAD during gestation and lactation, as well as current guidelines for the management ofpregnant women with BAD.
