Abstract
The purpose of the investigation was to extend the notions of the pathogenesis of miscarriage on the basis of the data obtained in a study of the major histocompatibility complex gene in spouses and to define the hormonal background in women with recurrent miscarriage. Uterine myoma, polycystic ovary syndrome, and luteal phase insufficiency have not been found to affect the nature and type of pregnancy termination. Pregnancy carrying is influenced by both the presence and absence of the similarity of HLA antigens in spouses, but the type of pregnancy termination does not depend on this nature.
