Chronic hepatitis Δ is one of the most severe and rapidly progressive diseases of the liver, carrying high risk for liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. The paper describes a case of successful orthotopic liver transplantation in a patient with decompensated cirrhosis due to chronic hepatitis delta and presents Russian and international experience in this area.
