Abstract
Scientific data on the pathogenesis and clinical manifestations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease indicate that the concomitance of these diseases in one patient, which is designated an overlap syndrome, is a unique and little studied condition. Its study is able to provide more insight into obstructive pulmonary disease and to affect its course.
