Abstract

Hereditary sensory and autonomic polyneuropathies (HSAP) is a group of rare inherited diseases with progressively decreased sensitivity, leading to insensibility to pain. A case of mutating HSAP is described. The specific feature of the case is the absence of pain syndrome. The given clinical example suggests that there is a need to increase awareness of the clinical picture of HSAP and the ways of early detection of patients with such disabling hereditary polyneuropathies among physicians of different specialties.
