PYELOCALICEAL AND URETERAL DILATATION OF PREGNANT WOMEN AND THEIR FETUSES
Abstract
The paper presents the state of pyelocaliceal and ureteral dilatation of a mother and her fetus. It describes morphological and anatomic changes in the urinary tract of pregnant women. Much attention is given to dilatation of the maternal and fetal renal collecting system. The paper reflects the importance of targeted scanning of the fetal kidney throughout pregnancy; it shows association of pyeloectasia with aneuploidy, particularly trisomy 21 and renal pathology, as confirmed in postnatal period, and the relationship between fetal pyeloectasia and maternal pyelocaliceal dilatation; and demonstrates the importance of ultrasound screening.

POSSIBILITIES OF USING THE IMMUNOMODULATOR GALAVIT® IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC TONSILLITIS
Abstract
The wide prevalence and global impact of tonsillar pathology on many human organs and systems predetermine the urgency of the problem of chronic tonsillitis. Due to the exceptionally important role of the tonsils in the processes of immunogenesis, indications for tonsillectomy should be strictly defined. In the absence of absolute indications for tonsillectomy, medical treatment that preserves the immunological functions of tonsillar lymphoid tissue seems to be most appropriate. Immunotropic therapy can improve the efficiency of treatment in patients with chronic tonsillitis.

DENSITOMETRY READINGS IN CHILDREN WITH AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES OF THE GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT
Abstract
The results of lumbar spine osteodensitometry in 43 children with autoimmune diseases of the gastrointestinal tract have shown that many of them have decreased bone mineral density. The authors consider that is appropriate to incorporate densitometry into an examination plan for the above patients, adolescent ones in particular.

THE ECHOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS OF INTERNAL REPRODUCTIVE ORGANS AND THE SPECIFIC FEATURES OF SOMATIC STATUS IN GIRLS WITH MENSTRUAL DISORDRS
Abstract
50 adolescent girls with a regular menstrual cycle (Group 1) and 50 with an irregular one (Group 2) were examined. The groups did not statistically significantly differ in mean age at the time of examination (15.42±0.25 and 15.52±0.3 years, respectively) and in mean age at menarche (12.72±0.34 and 12.73±0.33 years). The volume of the uterus was almost the same. The girls with an irregular menstrual cycle showed increases in body mass index (19.73±1.74 kg/m2 in Group 1 and 21.63±3.44 kg/m2 in Group 2) and ovarian volume.

OPTIMIZATION OF SURGICAL TREATMENT FOR BENIGN UTERINE DISEASES
Abstract
The results of treatment were retrospectively studied in 127 women with different types of uterine diseases who had undergone laparoscopic classical intrafascial supravaginal uterine extirpation (CISE) after Semm and in 108 women who had endoscopic extrafascial hysterectomy. CISE reduces trauma and minimizes topographic changes and blood flow and innervation disturbances in the small pelvis.

CONGENITAL HYPERINSULINISM IN A BABY WITH COFS SYNDROME
Abstract
The paper gives the data available in the literature on congenital hyperinsulinism and a clinical case of a male infant within the first 1 month of life with hyperinsulinism in the presence of hypertrophy of the islets of Langerhans and cerebro-oculo-facio-skeletal syndrome. It discusses the genetic and clinical aspects of the disease and laboratory and morphological changes.

CHRONIC CERVICITIS AND PAPILLOMAVIRUS INFECTION
Abstract
The paper gives the results of a comprehensive examination in 89 patients (mean age 33.9±1.1 years) with cervical papillomavirus infection associated with cervicitis and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. The number of human papillomavirus (HPV) types and the results of genotyping for high-risk HPV in cervicitis as compared with that in cervical precancer were established.

EFFICIENCY OF SYSTEMIC THERAPY FOR STAGE IV RENAL CELL CARCINOMA IN TERMS OF PROGNOSTIC FACTORS
Abstract
This investigation has evaluated the efficiency of treatment and identified prognostic factors for adjusted survival rates in patients with disseminated kidney cancer treated at the Republican Research and Practical Center for Oncology and Medical Radiology (Minsk) in 1999 to 2011. A prognostic classification has been elaborated for disseminated renal cell carcinoma, in accordance with which patients with less than 2 risk factors are classified into a low-risk group, those with 3-4 and more than 4 risk factors are into medium- and high-risk groups, respectively.

USE OF THE DIETARY SUPPLEMENT ALFAVIT ANTISTRESS AS A PREVENTIVE TECHNOLOGY TO ENHANCE STRESS RESISTANCE
Abstract
The paper considers how micronutrients (Mg, vitamins B1, B2, B5, Bs, Bg, B12, and C) affect the formation of stress resistance through involvement in the synthesis and metabolism of endogenous substances. A conjunction of these micronutrients that affect the formation of stress resistance with sedative components of natural origin is a rational combination of preventive actions to minimize the damaging influence of environmental stressors on the human body.

CARDIOVASCULAR CHANGES IN PRETERM INFANTS WITH PERINATAL PATHOLOGY
Abstract
The study of the functional state of the cardiovascular system in the neonatal period in infants, born prematurely, it found that there is a relationship of cardiovascular nature changes with perinatal pathology and gestational age. With decreasing gestational age increases the frequency of formation of maladjustment syndrome, cardiovascular system with myocardial dysfunction.

TREATMENT OF CORONARY HEART DISEASE PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC HEART FAILURE AND GRADES II AND III DIASTOLIC DYSFUNCTION
Abstract
The use of ivabradine in the 12-week combination therapy of chronic heart failure in patients with Grades II and III diastolic dysfunction, an ejection fraction of >50%, and a heart rate (HR) of >70 beats per minute improves left ventricular diastolic dysfunction in the presence of achieved target HR.

NEUROTROPHIC CORRECTION OF NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL FUNCTIONAL DISORDERS IN CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS AT THE PEDIATRIC STAGE OF AMBULATORY MEDICAL CARE
Abstract
Overall morbidity statistics indicates a gradual increase in the incidence of neuropsychological diseases in the Russian cohort of children and adolescents. The paper considers the procedures available in daily pediatric practice for both professional neuropsychologists and physicians having no professional specialty (pediatricians, family doctors) to render effective and safe care to children with neuropsychological functional disorders.

ULTRASOUND CRITERIA FOR ROTAVIRUS INFECTION IN YOUNG CHILDREN
Abstract
Children aged less than 7 years with acute rotavirus gastroenteritis are found to have echo-graphic phenomena of sludge and cholangiosludge. The younger the child and the higher degree of toxicosis with exicosis, the more frequently the phenomena that are specific for certain rotavirus strains are detected.

CONTROL OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES IN RURAL DWELLERS: SURVEY RESULTS
Abstract
The paper shows the necessity of raising the awareness of rural dwellers, middle-aged men in particular, about the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and the better control of hypertension. The priority actions are to increase the role of physician attendants in informing the rural population about risk factors, to improve treatment adherence, and to monitor target levels of blood pressure and cholesterol, the values of which directly affect disease prognosis.
